Why Alkaline Ionized Water
is so beneficial…
- pH: Our water ionizer raises the pH of tap water from
around 7 (neutral) to 9.5 (alkaline). Ionized alkaline
water acts as a solvent on acidic waste (such as fats,
uric acid, cholesterol ) stored in the body and dissolves
it to be removed by the blood. Authors such as Dr. Robert
Young and Dr. Ted Baroody claim that 75 to 80% of Americans
are too acidic--due to diet, stress, physical activity
and environmental toxins.
- More oxygen: Ionization splits the water molecule into
H+ and OH- ions. By drinking the water with more alkaline,
oxygen rich OH- ions, more oxygen is made available to
enrich the blood. This can lead to an increase in one's
energy level while also promoting quicker healing.
- A natural antioxidant: Alkaline Water carries a negative
electrical charge, making it a natural antioxidant, and
this electrical charge helps destroy bacteria, viruses
and fungi. The ionized OH- molecules have extra electrons
that neutralize destructive free radicals circulating
throughout the body and thus allow the natural healing
processes of the body to predominate, while also slowing
down the aging process and promoting health. In fact,
our ionized water can have an Oxidative Reduction Potential
(or ORP) as low as -400, meaning it is teaming with these
neutralizing, beneficial electrons that actually serve
as an antioxidant.
- Water Cluster size: Ionization cuts the size of the
water molecular cluster in half. Tap water has about 10
- 13 molecules per cluster, while Alkaline Water has 5
- 6 molecules per cluster. This means that Alkaline Water
is "wetter", has less surface tension, and can
better penetrate the cellular membranes of the body, thus
speeding new tissue building and waste removal. The smaller
clusters also mean that alkaline ionized water is more
hydrating, thus helping reduce wrinkles and keeping the
skin supple and smooth.
- Bioavailable, ionized minerals: Ionization results
in abundant alkaline minerals such as calcium being in
their ionized forms, and thus more bioavailable, helping
to "burn off" or metabolize fats and carbohydrates,
thus helping to reduce weight and eliminate obesity.
Wheatgrass:
A shot of Superfood
Wheatgrass is justifiably known as one of nature's superfoods
with 1oz of wheatgrass juice containing the nutrients of 2.5lbs
of green vegetables!
- Wheatgrass, like all green plants that contain chlorophyll,
is high in oxygen. Wheatgrass is also packed with vitamins
and minerals while also providing all 20 amino acids.
- It also has an abundance of alkaline minerals, such
as calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron.
- It is loaded with enzymes that help carry out many important
biological and chemical functions within the body.
Some of the health benefits include:
purification of the blood, liver, and gastrointestinal tract
improving blood sugar levels
stimulating metabolism
helping normalize the thyroid gland, and
helping oxygenate the blood. Wheatgrass
is also gluten-free (don't be fooled by the name!) and is
suitable for anyone with a gluten intolerance.
Goji Berries: The Wonder Fruit from high in the Himalayas
In the Valleys of Tibet and Mongolia there is a special berry
the locals cherish so much they honor it in celebrations that
last two weeks each year. Goji Berries contain more protein
than whole wheat, more beta carotene than carrots and 500
times more vitamin C by weight than oranges. It also contains
extremely high levels of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
It has been well documented that many people in these regions
where Goji Berries grow live free of common diseases for well
over a hundred years. Powerful
Anti-Aging Food
The Goji Berry is also being called the world’s most
powerful anti-aging food. Goji Berries are rated #1 on the
ORAC* scale, which measures the antioxidant levels in food.
The Goji Berry is quite possibly the most nutritionally dense
food on earth, and some say it is the most important natural
health discovery ever made.
*ORAC(Oxygen radical absorbent capacity) is a new test, developed
by USDA researchers out of Tufts University in Boston. It
is able to measure the antioxidant levels contained in foods.
Goji Berry’s Amazing
Array of Phytochemicals, Vitamins and Minerals
Antioxidants fight damage to cells from harmful, reactive
molecules called “free radicals”. Goji berries
contain numerous health-promoting compounds known to provide
a tremendous amount of health benefits.
Among Goji berry’s beneficial compounds is a category
called phytochemicals. Flavonoids belong to this category
of nutrients that are extremely high in antioxidants including
quercetin, anthocyanadins and antocyanins. Bioflavonoids are
essential to the absorption and utilization of other nutrients,
especially vitamin C.
In addition to being packed with vitamins B1 and B6 (which
are needed by the body to covert food into energy), and vitamin
E (which has never been found in fruit before), the Lycium
berries contain more protein then whole wheat, 18 amino acids
(8 of them essential for life), 21 trace minerals (including
significant amounts of zinc, copper, iron, calcium, selenium,
phosphorus and germanium), more beta carotene than carrots,
500 times more vitamin C by weight than oranges, essential
fatty acids, (required for the production of hormones and
smooth functioning of the brain and nervous system) and is
the richest source of carotenoids (natural fat-soluble pigments
that play a critical role in vitamin A activity in humans)
of any food on the planet. Modern
Science & Complex Compounds
In addition to the many vitamins, minerals, and unique polysaccharides
contained in the Goji Berry, these bright red berries also
contain the following complex compounds: Betaine,
which is used by the liver to produce choline, a compound
that calms nervousness, enhances memory, promotes muscle growth,
and protects against fatty liver disease. Physalin,
which is active against all major types of leukemia. It has
also been used as a treatment for hepatitis B. Solavetivone,
a powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compound. Cyperone,
a sesquiterpene that benefits the heart and blood pressure.
It has also been used in the treatment of cervical cancer.
Beta-Sitoserol, an anti-inflammatory
agent. It has been used to treat sexual impotence and prostate
enlargement. It also lowers cholesterol.
ACAI: South America’s Health-Promoting Fruit

Acai Health Benefits: Substantial scientific research provides
great insight into the health benefits of the Acai berry,
pronounced “ah-sigh-eee”. Acai berries
are amongst the most nutritious foods of the Amazon, rich
in B vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein and omega-3 fatty
acids. Acai also contain oleic acid (omega-9), a beneficial
fatty acid (often mistakenly referred to as essential).
As explained below, acai is also a rich source of anthocyanins
and other phyto-nutrients.
Rich in minerals: Acai is very rich in potassium, but it
is also rich in copper, and unusually high in manganese.
Only a small portion supplies far more than the body needs
of this ultra-trace mineral.
Rich in health-promoting Phytonutrients: Anthocyanins are
compounds that have potent antioxidant activity, allowing
for the neutralization of potentially harmful free radicals.
The famous research regarding the "French Paradox"
attributes anthocyanins as being the antioxidant that protects
the French from heart disease. The French are known to consume
large amounts of coffee, nicotine, sugar, white flour and
cheese and yet they have a very low rate of heart disease
compared to neighboring countries like the UK and Denmark.
The red wine grape, due to its anthocyanins is what is believed
to be responsible for the very low incidence of heart disease.
While red wine has good quantities of anthocyanins, the
Acai berry has been show to contain up to 30 times the anthocyanins
levels of red wine.
Powerful Antioxidant Benefits: For the average Western person
to cope with all the reactive oxygen and free radicals they
will encounter on a daily basis, foods and beverages totaling
an ORAC value of at least 2000 units per day are needed.
(***See below for more info on ORAC) It’s been estimated
that 80-90 percent of the world’s population fails
to consume even half of this level. At 3,800 ORAC value
per gram, Acai is reputed to be extremely high on the ORAC
scale and provides levels multiple times that of other anthocyanin-rich
fruits and vegetables, such as cherries, cranberries and
mulberries.
*ORAC(Oxygen radical absorbent capacity) is a new test,
developed by USDA researchers out of Tufts University in
Boston. It is able to measure the antioxidant levels contained
in foods.
